Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake
About Us
The mission of Girls on the Run of the Greater Chesapeake (GOTRGC), an independent council of Girls on the Run International (GOTRI), is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. This life-changing, positive youth development program for girls age eight to thirteen years old combines training for a 5K running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts. Our curricula address all aspects of girls' development – their physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual well-being. Through running, targeted discussions and motivating exercises, GOTRGC strives to empower participants and give them opportunities to be successful. Although the goal is to complete a 5K, the purpose is to instill confidence and a sense of accomplishment.
