  • About Us

The USS Hornet Sea, Air, & Space Museum is nonprofit organization based at Pier Three of the former Naval Air Station in Alameda, California.

One of the most decorated ships in the US Navy, USS Hornet claims a history of excellence, from playing a leading role in the Pacific Fleet of World War II all the way up to the picture-perfect recoveries of the Apollo 11 and 12 astronauts.

The mission of the USS Hornet Museum is to serve as an educational, cultural and community resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring Naval history and technology on the sea, in the air and in space, and seeks to inspire its visitors, especially the young, to become productive citizens and leaders in the world.
