  • About Us

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA, founded in 1979, by a group of parents who identified the need to support the parents of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or a life-threatening blood disorder and their families. In line with the organisation’s vision, we have since evolved into the largest and leading childhood cancer non-profit in South Africa providing life-changing and all-embracing support programmes to both the child or teenager and their families, from diagnosis to remission or sadly end-of-life. Our core programmes are in line with the WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer (GICC) to increase the survival rate of childhood cancer in South Africa to 60% by 2030 through our Comprehensive Child and Family Support Programmes.
