The Tibet Fund was established in 1981 under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama to help Tibetan refugees rebuild their lives in exile, sustain their settlement communities in India, Nepal, and Bhutan, and preserve their distinct cultural, religious and national identity.
Today we continue to support the institutions and grassroots organizations that provide health care, education, rehabilitation of newly-arrived refugees, religious and cultural preservation, elder care, and economic and community development projects that promote self-reliance and help sustain the cohesiveness of the exile community.
