RUSSIAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION

  • About Us

The Russian American Foundation is a New York based non-profit organization, founded in 1997. It is non-partisan in its mission to encourage interest in Russian heritage and culture among all communities in the US, as well as to promote reciprocal understanding of American heritage and culture among global Russian-speaking communities. RAF's programs focus on cultural, educational, and sports initiatives both in the United States and Russia.

Among RAF's acclaimed programs are: Annual Russian Heritage Month (NY, USA), Annual Bolshoi Ballet Academy Summer Programs (NY & CT, USA). NSLI for Youth Scholarship to Study Language Abroad, sponsored by the US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (Moscow, Russia).

“In today’s political climate, coming together as a people, not bound by race, color or gender, is more important than ever. One organization [RAF] has been striving to bridge the gap between cultures for 20 years, and it is right here in our own back yard…” The New York Post / May 2017

“The Russian American Foundation’s continued contributions to cultural, educational, and sports programs in the United States and Russia help foster greater understanding between the people of the United States and the Russian Federation. Such programs highlight the things that the American and Russian people have in common.” Honorable Michael A. McFaul, Former US Ambassador to Moscow / May 2012
