  • About Us

    Alexandria Area Arts is a community theatre located in the heart of the beautiful and historic downtown Alexandria, MN whose mission is to foster appreciation, understanding and love of the performing arts by providing experiences that entertain, educate and enrich the life of our community.  To achieve this mission, Alexandria Area Arts:

    ·       Produces 5 main-stage shows per year (musical, holiday show, comedy, drama and youth musical)

    ·       Presents several music and theatrical acts (local, regional and national)

    ·       Provides several yearly educational opportunities for youth and adults, including workshops, special master classes, the Theatre for Young Actor camps (ages 6-10, June), and the Minnesota Student Theatre Projects, a summer-long intensive day camp that culminates in a major musical capstone (ages 10-18, July-August)

    ·       Produces the annual Art in the Park event with 160 vendor booths, entertainment and food (last full weekend each July)

    ·       Serves as host-site for a variety of special events, rentals and community events
