Portland After School Tennis & Education

Portland After School Tennis & Education is a non-profit organization that offers one-on-one tutoring, group tennis instruction, life skills instruction, and parent advocacy and training to K-12th grade participants in our year around program. Because PAST&E is dedicated to serving children who are less fortunate, we do not charge any fees or tuition.

All of our volunteers play a dual role as a Tennis Coach on the court, assisting our Core Coaches and doing drills and games with the student athletes, and as a Tutor in the classroom helping students complete their homework, and reading, writing, math and science projects. The environment at PAST&E is highly structured to provide the students with the positive reinforcement and encouragement that they need. Also our volunteers benefit from this structured environment where they will need to take the initiative, respond to new challenges and be positive!

No tennis experience is necessary, but all of our volunteers come prepared every day to be active on the court, playing tennis and doing fitness activities like dancing!
