    HALT (Help Abolish Legal Tyranny), a public interest group with more than 50,000 members dedicated to promoting simple, affordable and accountable justice for all, provides self-help books and public educational materials to help citizens understand the civil justice system and better manage their own legal affairs. HALT also works to advance reforms that improve public accountability for lawyers, increase consumer choice in legal services, empower citizens to take charge of their own legal affairs, and simplify legal procedures.
