About Us
Habitat for Humanity Anchorage works in partnership with people throughout the community to build houses, build hope, and change lives. We do this by building and renovating simple, decent, and affordable houses and by using our voice in the community to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action.
Since 1993 when Habitat for Humanity Anchorage completed its first house, we've built 84 new construction houses in the Anchorage area and rehabbed an additional 12. In addition to increasing the inventory of affordable housing in Anchorage, we serve individuals and families with the goal of increasing their annual income by helping them identify existing local resources and also encouraging competency in the areas of basic financial management and budgeting.
