  • About Us

The mission of the CAC is to present and procure artists who want to produce, explore, test new concepts, and expand the current debates and ideas in today’s art and culture. Through artists’ residencies, art studios, lectures, exhibitions, and performances, the CAC seeks to promote the creation and appreciation of contemporary art. The CAC is committed to vigorous creative dialogue and community engagement while encouraging sustainable practices.

The CAC programming seeks to situate compelling ideas within the context of contemporary art, addressing themes as diverse as local history and biotech to social interventionism and aesthetic postmodernism. Chief to our mission is the direct support of the artist, the demystification of the hydra-headed beast called contemporary art, and the active engagement of the art viewing audience.
