    The mission of the Diabetes Society is to provide an interactive community that improves the lives of people affected by diabetes through education, advocacy, and support services.

    The Diabetes Society was organized in 1963 as the result of efforts by a group of mothers of children with diabetes. Today, the Diabetes Society is the premier organization in Northern California that provides an extensive range of educational programs and direct services for people of all ages who have diabetes, in addition to educating the general public about the seriousness of this disease. The Diabetes Society is an independent organization with no regional, state, or national affiliations.
