Alternative Directions, Inc.

  • About Us

Alternative Directions, Inc. (ADI) is an organization that serves the incarcerated and ex-offender populations in Maryland. Currently, ADI has two different programs: a civil legal program and a transitional program. Paralegals in the civil legal program assist incarcerated individuals with representing themselves in simple and uncontested family law matters, such as divorce and child support modification. All paralegals work under the supervision of an attorney. Staff members also conduct workshops in prisons and jails throughout Maryland to educate inmates about various family law issues. The transitional program, called the Turn About Program (TAP), works with women who are released from prison on parole to help them become successful members of the community.
