We publish a monthly magazine featuring an eclectic mix of essays, interviews, fiction, poetry and photography. People write in The Sun of their struggle to understand their lives, often baring themselves with remarkable candor. Our commitment to presenting honest, real voices sets us apart from other, more academic literary magazines. Our goal is to publish writing and photography that fosters compassion through greater awareness of our shared experience, and that honors both individual perspectives and our common humanity. We want to provide both established and emerging authors with an opportunity to risk a closer examination of the truth and to reach a wider audience. In addition, our Readers Write section, where The Sun's readers contribute personal essays each month, creates a dynamic conversation between readers and writers that is unique among literary publications.
