    Founded in 2006, the Star of the Sea Foundation (SOS) is the largest hunger-relief organization in Monroe County, Florida. Via two client-choice food pantries, as well as agreements with 15 partner agencies throughout the County, SOS serves 11,000 unduplicated clients each year. In addition to the two food pantries, SOS also operates the 3,900 square-foot Callahan Community Kitchen, which enables SOS to provide fresh, healthy meals to low-income children and senior citizens, conduct nutrition education classes, and foster job training and internship programs for unemployed or underemployed individuals.
