Friends Club

Bethesda, MD

  • About Us

Friends Club brings together active gentlemen in the early-to-mid stages of Alzheimer's disease in a caring, safe and secure environment. Our program is specifically designed to meet the social and emotional needs of men who are experiencing memory loss due to diagnosed dementia. The Club resembles men's organizations that the family member may have belonged to earlier in his life, thus providing a familiar, non-institutional setting. The men share common interests and experiences, and enjoy therapeutic, social and physical activities. Our mission is to help club members maintain their highest level of functioning, to support emotional and physical independence, to heighten self-esteem, and to enhance the overall quality of life; and to provide respite and support for wives and caregivers.
