Massachusetts Public Health Association

  • About Us

The Massachusetts Public Health Association (MPHA) is a statewide membership organization that seeks to improve the public's health, promote the establishment of health care as a human right, and achieve optimal community, personal and environmental health.

Founded in 1879, MPHA is the oldest public health organization in the nation, and is a leading affiliate of the American Public Health Association. We are the only organization in Massachusetts that unites public health's diverse constituencies and disciplines under one umbrella.

With a growing regional membership in across the state, MPHA promotes the health of all people and communities in Massachusetts, particularly those vulnerable to disparities in health status because of race, ethnicity, class, gender, or sexual orientation.
