P.A.W. (protecting Animal Welfare) Cat Sanctuary & Humane Society

We are a NO KILL privately owe cat sanctuary located on the island of Caye Caulker pronounced (key Corker). We receive no private or government funding. We support the sanctuary by the rental fees of our PAUSE accommodations and kind people's donations .We rescue abused, homeless, sick cats and provided them with medical care, food, water, a safe haven and sterilization. Cats that are adoptable are placed for adoption. We believe in humane control of animal population so our main goal is to sterilize animals therefore we have a low cost and free sterilization program and have a successful TNR program. We invite vets, vet students and techs and provide them with free boarding in exchange for their assistance locally, throughout villages on the mainland of Belize and in neighboring Mexican towns across the border through our project "PAWS ACROSS THE BORDER". We believe education is the key to changing negative attitudes about animals so we have our own PAWS for Art Humane Education Program as well as going into the schools to spread the good news that animals are sentient beings.
