    HDC is the citywide advocate for New York's designated historic districts and neighborhoods meritting preservation. The Council is dedicated to protecting the integrity of the New York Landmarks Law and furthering the preservation ethic. HDC works closely with over 500 local community-based groups throughout the 5 boroughs of NYC to protect and preserve historic neighborhoods through ongoing programs of community outreach, education, public policy initatives and direct hands-on advocacy.
