Quality Housing Coalition

  • About Us

Quality Housing Coalition was created in response to housing crisis in Maine and is dedicated to opening new pathways to stabilize and access the housing people need to live, work, and raise their children. QHC centers its work around inclusive cross-sector community partnerships by working with municipalities, housing authorities, state and local leaders, housing and homeless advocates, nonprofit and for profit housing developers, tenants, landlords, property managers, and community members to create housing forward policies that provide quality housing for those in need in Maine.

Project HOME, QHC's core program, is a supportive housing tenant management service that partners with landlords to rent to tenants who have experienced homelessness and housing insecurity. Project HOME assists landlords by managing all aspects of the tenancy related to tenant duties, leasing-up and move-in details, rental assistance program navigation, physical maintenance of the unit, and repairs/damages. Project HOME also helps tenants access community resources related to food, healthcare, education, and employment.

RESULTS: 99% of Project HOME's tenancies successfully complete their year-long tenancies, which we believe is due to our strong landlord/tenant relationships, a reliable system of accountability to resolve lease violations as soon as they arise, and our financial guarantee for each unit.
