    The Physics Department consists of approximately 150 faculty, graduate students and staff. The primary purpose of the Physics Department is to provide collegiate education, community service and an environment for scholarly research. The Department services approximately 20,000 students, various governmental agencies and the public, state-wide.

    The mission of the physics teaching labs is to support a high quality educational experience by presenting an effective learning environment for undergraduate students in laboratory courses at the University and a support system to the faculty done in a professional and people oriented manner.
