    Friends of + POOL advocates for clean and safe access to urban rivers, educates the public on issues affecting water quality, and promotes water stewardship. The organization is the driver of + POOL, a water-filtering, floating swimming pool, currently being designed for installation in the East River. + POOL represents how design can be used to solve environmental problems, which is embedded in all of the organization's work.  To serve its mission, Friends of + POOL offers a variety of free public engagement platforms through its art, in-school education, environmental science, and recreational programs.
