Conrad Grebel University College, University of Waterloo, has the oldest Peace and Conflict Studies program in Canada. The Certificate Program in Conflict Management grows out of the belief by the College, an institution rooted in Mennonite theology, that collaborative responses to conflict, rather than adversarial processes, are most effective in building long-term relationships that best serve the interests of all parties.
The program, at the Institute of Peace and Conflict Studies, provides practical and relevant skills training in conflict management. Facilitators use information sharing, case studies, role plays and group discussion to illustrate collaborative responses to conflict.
You will obtain skills that enable you to respond in creative and positive ways to the conflict you may face in daily life. You will learn theory and experiment with techniques to develop confidence in your ability to effectively problemsolve in work, community and personal situations.
One or more workshops may be taken for interest or the requirements to obtain a non-degree Certificate in Conflict Management in 3 different areas of concentration--Mediation, Faith Communities and Project Managers--may be completed.
With over 3,000 participants, more than 30 workshops, in over 10 cities worldwide, we invite you to join us for your personal and professional development, or to discuss our customized, on-site services.
