HelpGuide.org is one of the world’s leading online resources for mental health education and support. Our mission is to empower people with the knowledge and skills they need to strengthen their mental health and well-being so they can make better decisions for themselves and their loved ones. Our free psychoeducational materials provide a critical lifeline to anyone who turns to the Internet for help.

HelpGuide has reached more than 750 million people since our start in 1999, and we continue to serve millions each month—most of whom are young and low-income. We’re here for every person who needs us when they need us most—regardless of where they are, what challenges they’re facing, or what they can afford. All they need is an Internet connection.

HelpGuide provides meaningful, immediate support to individuals and families—including those who lack access to in-person services—with evidence-based mental health information and wellness tools that are motivating, actionable, and easy-to-understand. Our materials are structured to help people develop the skills they need to improve and maintain mental health and well-being, recognize and support others who may be struggling, and bolster resilience in themselves, their families, and their communities.

As a barrier-free online resource, HelpGuide supports and augments an overstretched mental healthcare system and reaches people who would not otherwise receive help—including those deterred by financial constraints, stigma, privacy concerns, difficulty finding a provider, and long wait times.
