A century ago, the Society of Arts and Crafts pledged to preserve, perfect, and promote the spirit of artisanship.. We welcome the world to our galleries and programs to learn about craft through the senses—and feel it with the heart. Our mission is to encourage the creation, collection, and promotion of the work of contemporary craft artists and to advance public appreciation of fine craft. We fulfill our mission through original exhibitions, artist awards, education initiatives, and public programs such as CraftBoston. We also promote the work of contemporary craft artists in our galleries on an ongoing basis.
