Hunnarshala Foundation for Building Technology and Innovations

Hunnarshala Foundation is a not‐for‐profit section 25 company based in Bhuj (Kutch), Gujarat, India. We work towards 4 main objectives:

1. To facilitate housing and basic services for the urban poor and develop governance and planning tools to create sustainable communities in our towns, promoting dignity for all citizens.
2. To promote eco‐friendly, cost‐effective, low cost building materials and infrastructure that utilizes locally appropriate inputs and aesthetics.
3. To work with and further the interests of building artisans and their craft through training, assistance, and capacity building, and to bring them into the mainstream of construction.
4. In post‐disaster situations, support government, NGOs, and affected communities with mechanisms that enable owner/community led reconstruction approaches.
