  • About Us

The Newburgh Performing Arts Academy (NPAA) is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organization that was founded in 2004 to educate and enrich the quality of life of individuals in underserved communities through instruction in and access to the various creative art forms such as dance, theater, music, literacy and visual arts. NPAA’s programs currently serve over 1200 students ages 3-18 annually.

Over the past two years, NPAA has expanded outside of its pre-professional arts instruction borders to implement several exciting, new after-school programs in collaboration with the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. The Afterschool Project (T.A.P.) is a comprehensive after-school initiative established to break the cycle of poverty and the culture of anti-intellectualism through the provision of quality educational services designed to prepare youth to successfully enter college or the workforce. After-school programs have been established in South Junior High School, Temple Hill School, Meadow Hill School and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Newburgh, expanding NPAA’s afterschool population to nearly 700 students in grades k-12.
