  • About Us

Kafika House provides a safe, loving home away from home for children receiving pre-and post-operative care and rehabilitation for a surgically correctable disability in Tanzania.

We deliver holistic health services through our specialised rehabilitation centre and programme, to meet the needs of children with disabilities that can be treated surgically. We provide specialised interventions to meet the needs of every child at the centre, and engage the family and carers in their child’s rehabilitation process, educating and empowering them to manage their child’s rehabilitation and care, especially when discharged. This includes clinics with occupational therapists, paediatricians, nurses and doctors, follow up visits, and the Mamas Education Programme.

We treat patients with osteofluorosis, burn scar contractures, cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, masses, osteomyelitis, hydrocephalus and spina bifida.

Our scope of practice includes patient recruitment through outreach, surgical care at one of our five partner hospitals, and full recuperation and rehabilitation.

Our Vision: No child in Tanzania lives with a treatable disability

Our Mission: We make holistic and transformative healthcare accessible to children living with a treatable disability in Tanzania. We provide hope and change the face of disability among families and communities.
