  • About Us

We are a grassroots organization of law students, legal workers, and attorneys who choose to struggle with the people to the end that human rights become more sacred than property rights. The National Lawyers Guild was founded in the 1930s as an alternative to the American Bar Association, who would not admit people of color. Our goals include the elimination of racism, oppression, and imperialism; promoting environmental justice, immigrants' rights, and civil liberties; and generally working for social justice within the legal framework.
