  • About Us

MBF posts bail so that low-income people can stay free while they work towards resolving their case, allowing individuals, families, and communities to stay productive, together, and stable. MBF is committed to freeing individuals serving pre-trial sentences, and seeks to abolish pre-trial detention and supervision in the long-term. A person’s ability to address legal charges while in the community, rather than in jail, results in better legal outcomes. We do this work through the lens of abolitionism - we envision a world that resources our communities to live dignified lives, where prisons & policing no longer exist. More about us here.
