  • About Us

Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (Progeria) is a fatal, "premature aging" syndrome in which children die of heart disease at an average age of 14 years. Founded in 1999 by the friends and family of a child with Progeria, The Progeria Research Foundation (PRF) is the sole non-profit organization whose mission is to discover the cause, treatment, and cure for Progeria and its aging-related disorders, including heart disease, and to raise awareness about Progeria by educating the families, physicians and general public. Research on Progeria will benefit not only these special children but also millions of people who suffer from heart disease and other aging-related conditions.
