About Us
The American Academy of HIV Medicine is a professional organization that supports the HIV practitioner and promotes accessible, quality care for all Americans living with HIV disease. Our membership of HIV practitioners and credentialed HIV Specialists™, HIV Experts™, and HIV Pharmacists ™ provide direct care to the majority of HIV patients in the US.
The mission of AAHIVM is to give HIV frontline practitioners the resources and educational opportunities they need for providing optimal care for those living with HIV disease. We support the HIV care provider and the profession by:
- Providing continuing medical education;
- Credentialing HIV Specialists™, HIV Experts™ and HIV Pharmacists™;
- Providing practice management information;
- Advocating on behalf of the HIV care provider at the federal and state levels for issues relevant to clinical and professional support;
- Advancing healthcare resources for HIV-infected patients.
