UMOM New Day Centers

Now in its 51st year of service, UMOM’s mission is to prevent and end homelessness with innovative strategies and housing solutions that meet the unique needs of each family and individual.

UMOM helps families exit homelessness and return to permanent housing in their community as expeditiously as possible and to maintain housing stability. We do this by providing for their most basic and critical needs (food, medical care, etc.); target the most appropriate program interventions; facilitate the removal of barriers to housing; empower families to achieve their case plan goals for income, employment, vocational training/education, or substance abuse treatment; and provide follow-up services for up to a year after they leave our shelter programs.

UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of shelter services for homeless families. In addition, because we focus on keeping families together, UMOM is one of the only shelters that accept single fathers with children, legal guardians or non-traditional heads of households, and teenage boys.
