    Buckman Elementary SUN Community School is part of SUN (Schools Uniting Neighborhoods) Community Schools are located in Portland Public Schools and are designed to transform schools into community learning centers and promote student achievement and enrichment through greater neighborhood involvement. They provide educational, recreational, social and health services. The Buckman SUN program serves over 500 students a week from K-5.

    Buckman SUN Community School is a collaboration of Impact Northwest, Multnomah County Office of School and Community Partnerships, the City of Portland Parks and Recreation Department, and Portland Public Schools.
