Help someone find hope. Become a Grief Volunteer Group Leader.
OUR HOUSE Grief Support Center is recruiting for volunteer support group leaders. OUR HOUSE is a nonprofit organization providing grief support services, education, resources, and hope throughout the greater Los Angeles area. We provide support groups for children and adults who have experienced the death of someone close.
Our volunteers are extraordinary people who make a big difference in the lives of grieving children and adults. They co-lead groups in the evenings in our West Los Angeles and Woodland Hills locations and online or during the day in various school throughout Los Angeles County. We ask for a one year commitment. Volunteers receive three days of comprehensive training and they receive group supervision once every other week. The average time commitment is about 10-15 hours per month.
Volunteer testimonial: "Volunteering has taught me a lot. The rewards go far beyond just helping people because the work has also changed me in such fundamental ways. When I put aside my own cares to really be present for other people, it brings out the best in me and everyone in my life is the richer for it." Diane
