Braided River addresses pressing conservation topics with the goal of protecting the last wild places in western North America. Public engagement is inspired through extensive marketing and outreach programs that include publishing large-format photographic books in partnership with Mountaineers Books (a nonprofit Seattle publisher).
Our books become the foundation for broad, multi-year outreach campaigns: we bring the photographer’s distinctive voice and vision to a wider audience through museum exhibits, photographer presentations, and publicity/ earned media.
Our work includes programs that address the loss of biodiversity and the climate crisis, including America's Arctic, the Colorado and Columbia Rivers, orcas and salmon, migration corridors from Yellowstone to the Yukon, polar bears—among many others.
We collaborate with numerous conservation, community and Indigenous tribes, and funders on strategy, outreach, education, and advocacy.
