Making Connections

  • About Us

Making Connections is a multigenerational program placing Douglas County, Oregon children and seniors who are failing to thrive or have lost direction and meaning in life with temperament tested shelter dogs that have been abandoned and/or abused. Elementary school children assisted by adults and teens work with and socialize dogs; once the dogs have been socialized they will either be adopted out or assigned to another school for obedience training. Those that show promise will move on to become therapy dogs working with elders or others who need them..
