    Legal Aid of North Carolina is a non-profit organization which provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income people in order to ensure equal access to justice and to remove legal barriers to economic opportunity.  Legal Aid of NC has approximately 20 field offices throughout the state. The Battered Immigrant Project (BIP) is a statewide project of Legal Aid of North Carolina that provides immigration assistance to immigrant victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.   The (BIP) also helps immigrant clients with other legal matters related to their victimization. The BIP currently has attorneys located in Legal Aid's Charlotte, Durham, Raleigh, and Greenville offices and these attorneys serve clients throughout the state of North Carolina.
