  • About Us

Founded in late December 2021, Rochdale Capital is a community development loan fund whose mission is the promotion of cooperative and community ownership; advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion; and providing capital access in Black, Latino, Asian American Pacific Islander and Indigenous under resourced communities.

The staff has fifty plus years of community economic development experience. John Holdsclaw IV is President & CEO, Kladé Hare is Chief Lending Officer, and Chantal Hart, manages operations and compliance.

Rochdale Capital hopes to raise $25 million over the next few years ($20 million in debt and $5 million in equity) to continue lending to the growing pipeline, as well as provide general operational support.

Rochdale strongly believes that ownership is the foundation to vibrant communities. As we work extensively in urban and rural communities of color, we provide needed capital in sectors such as community health, solar/renewable energy, homeownership, entrepreneurship, and food security. We also provide technical assistance on a 1:1 basis and in group settings to give communities the greatest chance of success.
