About Us
At the Silver Spring Day School, we believe that young children learn through play and exploration, supported by the active and intentional engagement of the adults in their lives. We know that the development of strong social-emotional skills, alongside the ability to ‘think outside the box’ are the keys to a child’s future success. We are a thriving, parent-participatory school in Four Corners, Silver Spring. Our classrooms are run by a collaboration of a Lead Teacher, an Assistant Teacher, and a Parent-Participant or a second Assistant Teacher. A Maryland Department of Education accredited school, SSDS was founded in 1971 and is going strong.
