    The Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy (DJCL) is an umbrella organization that works to increase the Jewish community's involvement in the fight against illiteracy by mobilizing volunteer readers, tutors and book drive organizers. In association with the National Jewish Coalition for Literacy, the Detroit Jewish Coalition for Literacy is a response to the Department of Education's literacy initiative known as the America Reads Challenge.
