  • About Us

The Friends of the Asian Pacific American Museum ("Friends of") is a non-profit organization under Section 501(c)(3), passionately devoted to attaining Congressional authorization and the creation of a national museum that illuminates and celebrates Asian Pacific American history and culture. Our vision is to create a dynamic Smithsonian Museum of tomorrow, ideally located on or near the National Mall.

While we are an independent entity, not directly affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution or the newly established Commission To Study the Potential Creation of a National Museum of Asian Pacific American History and Culture, however, our work will coincide with and support the work of the Commission.
