  • About Us

Formed as a non-profit in 1999, ACEP’s mission includes raising public awareness about our bio-electric nature as a path to healing and the power of human connection to make positive change in the world.

ACEP has a global membership of over 1,200 licensed mental health professionals and allied health practitioners dedicated to exploring, developing, researching and applying energy psychology methods to alleviate human suffering, enhance human performance and access human potential.

    ABOUT ENERGY PSYCHOLOGY

Energy psychology (EP) is a family of integrative approaches to psychotherapy, coaching and healthcare treatment rooted in mind-body healing traditions that are over 2,500 years old (including traditional Chinese medicine and yoga and Ayurveda). EP methods blend the bio-energetic insights of these traditions with the best of contemporary psychological practice. They have been refined through 35 years of modern clinical experience with millions of clients throughout the world.

One of the most well-known EP methods today is Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) — otherwise known as meridian tapping. Variations on tapping include Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT). Each of these approaches helps to swiftly and gently release stress and trauma from the body and mind by modifying the brain’s response to traumatic memories and fear-triggering environmental cues.

Over 60 scientific studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of these approaches. The US government's and EFT has met the APA standards as an "efficacious" treatment for phobias, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

Because they are child-friendly and simple to learn, these healing techniques can easily be shared within a community and have proven successful in a variety of post-war/post-disaster settings and cultures, including the United States, Kosovo, Haiti, Japan and Rwanda.
