About Us
Americans for Transit’s mission is to strengthen, create, and unite grassroots transit rider organizations across the United States. We are a national 501c3 non-profit.
Equitable, sustainable, and affordable transportation is one of the major economic, environmental, and social justice issues of our day. We aim to create a coalition of transit riders and advocates to address the pressing transit funding crisis in America. While demand for transit continues to increase, bus and train riders are left stranded. Our government needs to step up and fund a 21st century transit system that we can all be proud of. Across America we need more affordable public transportation; not less.
