Student Success Network

  • About Us

Student Success Network (SSN) is a community of youth-facing organizations strengthening our collective capacity to improve postsecondary outcomes in NYC. Founded in 2013 by the leaders of 15 education and youth development organizations, the Network was built on a shared understanding that all organizations could serve students more effectively by aligning around shared goals and measures, co-learning about promising practices and approaches, and strengthening connection and coordination between organizations and practitioners..

A backbone team anchors the Network and carries out the following activities:

    1. Identifies shared program and practice improvement priorities, goals, and measures
    2. Facilitates spaces to increase understanding of factors that impact improvement priorities,
    3. Organizes “improvement cohorts” to test and measure innovative practices to improve shared goals.
    4. Codifies and scales practices and measures that work, throughout the Network and with external partners.
    5. Strengthens connection with a diverse group of stakeholders to support a more coordinated and collaborative ecosystem.

Currently, our Network is mobilizing to address core barriers to improving outcomes that support equitable access to high-quality careers, starting with a lack of clear, transparent, and aligned language and measures for the skills and knowledge young people need to be ready for their futures.
