Theater for the New City

  • About Us

Theater for the New City (TNC) is a community cultural center founded in 1970 by Crystal Field. It's mission is to be a center for new and innovative theater arts that is truly accessible to both experimental theater artists and the community which they serve. To accomplish this, TNC discovers and nurtures new playwrights; creates a space where new visions can breathe and be nourished by a working process not subject to commercial constraints and pressures; acts as bridge between theatre artists and the community; and creates events and ways to bring theater into the community and the community into the theater.
