    For nearly 20 years, the Kaiser Center and Calvin Simmons Theatre have sat vacant and deteriorating on the south shore of Lake Merritt. It shall reopen its doors in 2023, bringing to life world-class performance space that will once again house and draw the best speakers, artists, and touring performances to Oakland.  The Calvin Simmons Theatre and adjoining event spaces will provide a much-needed mid-sized and affordable home for local and touring arts organizations.
