  • About Us

John V. Lindsay Wildcat Academy Charter School was founded as an alternative school to meet the needs of NYC high school students who had dropped out of traditional schools. Staff believe that all students can achieve if given the appropriate supports and that not all students will follow the same path to success. The curriculum at JVLWACS is individualized for the student and includes an internship program. Students attend class Monday through Friday from 9 to 5 one week and then the next week they work on job placements through the internship program. Students bring back their real world experiences and integrate this knowledge with academic course work. Graduates of JVLWACS, once viewed as potential drop-outs, are now working and attending college.
