Harlem Center for Change

  • About Us

The Harlem4 Center for Change (HARLEM4) is a multicultural, multi-generational, non partisan research and advocacy organization providing a forum to generate bold new ideas and policy proposals for the Village of Harlem. We seek to reverse Harlem’s status as a food desert by putting in place a sustainable food model that serves the community through policy, action, community organizing and education. Our aim is to effect an urban food coalition that embraces the social, economic and cultural values of a community that is significantly under-served by the availability of fresh food. It is our goal to become a model for change in Harlem in particular and urban America in general.
