San Francisco Free Clinic

The mission of the San Francisco Free Clinic is to provide free, accessible medical care to those with no health insurance, and to advance the field of primary care by helping to train future medical practitioners.

We believe that no one should suffer or die prematurely because they cannot get medical care. Unfortunately, millions of people who lack health insurance in America still do. This includes tens of thousands of people right here in our beloved city of San Francisco. Even if there were universal coverage, there would not be enough primary care providers to deliver the needed treatment. For twenty-five years, the San Francisco Free Clinic has been here to serve Bay Area residents without health insurance. And we have made it our mission to train others in the medical field, so that some may be inspired to go out and fill the critically underrepresented primary care specialties. Our vision for the future is that the San Francisco Free Clinic will always be there as a constant source of healing and comfort, to save lives and relieve pain for generations to come.
