Bridgeway Hospice is dedicated to providing compassionate and palliative care to our patients as well as supporting the spiritual and emotional needs of the entire family while recognizing the valuable relationships with our employees and the communities we serve. Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a terminal illness and help their family caregivers in a variety of ways. Bridgeway Hospice relies on volunteers to help with office work, fundraising, community outreach and other operational areas. Some examples of our everyday volunteer duties are: Being a friendly visitor to a patient
Being a comforting and supporting presence
Engaging in the patient's hobbies, such as playing board games/card games or discussing current events
Sharing musical or artistic talents with our patients and families
Providing time for the caregiver to take care of her/his self
Volunteers are never asked to complete tasks they are not comfortable with.
